Abstract
The globus pallidus is the most common site of abnormalities in acute carbon monoxide intoxication. However, the vulnerable structures in the brain with delayed encephalopathy have not been known yet. We report three patients with delayed encephalopathy who suffered from cognitive dysfunction after a lucid interval after acute carbon monoxide intoxication. The magnetic resonance imaging from all three patients showed involvement of the centrum semiovale and corpus callosum.
